Meine Inputs dazu:

1. Ideal ist ein Handy mit GPS und Glosnass - deutlich besserer und schnellerer Fix als rein GPS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_smartphones_using_GLONASS_Navigation)
Gute Erfahrungen habe ich mit dem Huawei Honor - wobei 4" ist nicht so riesig, aber guter Akku (und preiswerte Riesenakkus) - haengt jetzt am Rad.

2. Bei reinen GPS Handies kann eine spezielle GPS Maus helfen - die wird per BT verbunden, dass braucht weniger Saft als GPS ...

3. Jedenfalls eine APP die nicht dauernd zum Richtungswechsel auf den Kompass zugreift - manchnal kann man das abstellen - dass frisst Akku ohne Ende

4. Benutze Maverick, Osmand, Sportstracker und in Bikenatureguide, alles nur offline Daten.. sehr komfortabel und alle kostenfrei (bikenaturguide für die Steiermark).

5. ZUr Befestigung nutze ich den Finn (unten auf der Seite. Zumindest mein 4" Huawei haelt damit bombenfest - hab ich beim MTBen ausprobiert. Diesen Haltertyp gibt es nicht nur da, hab ihn auch beim örtlichen Radhaendler um 7€ gesehen - meiner war ein Geschenk meines Arbeitgebers :-)
